Sounds counter-intuitive, but today's slimming breakfast was: cheesecake with fresh black raspberries and a cup of Starbucks Sumatra Coffee. Find the delicious, easy-peasey, low-carb, nourishing cheesecake recipe here. I used 1/3 reduced fat cream cheese and full fat sour cream, and because I did not think ahead, cooled the cooked concoction in a larger bowl of ice water for about 10 minutes. It was worth the wait! The black raspberries grow wild near our house, by the way.
You deserve cheesecake for breakfast, too! Try it out and let me know what you think.
A friend mentioned a salmon dip that she made for lunch yesterday, which is what I plan to eat for my lunch today. That recipe can be found in the book "Trim Healthy Mama."

Theme Song Thursday
Soaking in this song these last couple of days, especially the following lyrics:
"Jesus Let Me See Your Eyes"
Jesus let me see Your eyes
Let me feel Your embrace
Let me feel You all around me
Yeah
I was made for, I was made for
I was made for, I was made for
I was made for, I was made for love
It really doesn't get better than that!
PS I have completed Pre-Calculus lesson 26!

Run, Walk, Repeat
I know I said this before, but the added run-walk-repeat day of exercise energizes me and makes me incredibly happy. You really should give it a try.
Other things that have made me happy lately are the delicious, pampering, healthy, slimming "Trim Healthy Mama" meals, snacks and desserts I have been enjoying these past few weeks. Salmon patties, buttery baked butternut squash, meatloaf, pancakes (twice this week), grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate cake, rich chocolate fudge, smoothies...I am making myself hungry and really should go have a snack to keep my metabolism revving and burning up that belly fat.
But before I dash off, I will mention one other happiness-giver to me:
After reading the first chapter I sense that much transformation is ahead -- that's what I am talkin' about! I am going to learn to be a more powerful person:

Making a list and checking it twice
Is it awkward or lame of me to reference someone else's blog as my post today? I hope not, because this one hit me right between the eyes. It's almost like Someone is shouting instructions to me instead of whispering them. Wahoo!
I know what you are thinking...Shouldn't you be doing the millions of things on your list right now, starting with the daily Pre-Calc review lesson. Perhaps you are right, but...
Here's the link to the blog article, which is exactly what I needed to read today:
Oh and just one other thought before I move along to that to-do list about which you were harping: if it is true in fact that I can have it all, it is likewise true that I cannot have it all at the very same time. Making a list and checking it twice or more should help with that, right?
What are you focusing upon today?

Theme Song Thursday: You Know Me
"I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth- that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid?" ~ Benjamin Franklin

Success! After 2 weeks of adding an extra run day, I still feel great and have no negative physical side effects. Wow! I am absolutely thrilled. I believe the secret to my success came as an inspired thought 2 weeks ago and which I mentioned in an earlier post: Jeff Galloway's run/walk method to the rescue. I am finding that mixing it up with the run 1 minute/walk 1 minute on one of my back-to-back days is fun and energizing. My dear hubbie had said he thought I could run 6 days a week and suffer no ill-effects. This morning near the end of my run, I found myself dreaming about adding a long run back into the mix (run/walk style) and perhaps a 5th day of running, also. My biggest challenge will be to add new things slowly and patiently.
If you are reading this thinking that you cannot relate, I'd like to challenge you to go and read about Galloway's method and then just give it a go. There are so many benefits to running alongside of the physical benefits, like time to think, time to hear from God and much more. If you'd like to follow my running path just click on the "running" label at the bottom of the page. I think you will like running!
I have made it through lesson 22 of my Pre-Calculus review lessons with 9 more to go. Then I will need to start other home education prep for the coming school year, although I am not completely certain what is left to do. I think it is not very much, though.
With all the kiddos in camp, it is very quiet here. The days still fly quickly by and so far, I am wondering why I am not accomplishing more.
I have a stack of 5 books alongside of my "Trim Healthy Mamas" book to read. The majority of those books are related to serving on not-for-profit boards. Hopefully I will glean some helpful information from those books. I know that the THM book is incredibly helpful to me. So far I have noticed that my emotions and energy levels are much more balanced. I want to start taking some measurements to track my progress, as well as to finish reading the book and to insert tabs to help me quickly find what I am seeking.
These days of change and new things that Doug Addison has been declaring are creating expectation inside of me. I can hardly wait to see what happens.
What new thing have you been exploring lately? What are you looking forward to most in the coming weeks of summer?

For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth
Thou art exalted far above all gods
For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth
Thou art exalted far above all gods
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
Oh with all we have
And with all we are
We have come so far
To lift Your name
Lift Your name on high, Jesus
Cause it's all about You, oh Jesus
Oh it's all about You - oh yeah yeah yeah
And this love, this song, this praise
Is what we bring to You
Thou art exalted far above all gods
For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth
Thou art exalted far above all gods
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
Oh with all we have
And with all we are
We have come so far
To lift Your name
Lift Your name on high, Jesus
Cause it's all about You, oh Jesus
Oh it's all about You - oh yeah yeah yeah
