Theme Song Thursday

"Light of the World"
by The Martins

Who would have thought that one bright star over tiny Bethlehem,
would bring the light that shines around the world.
And the light from that first holy night still warms the heart today.
As we celebrate, we join our hearts and say:

[chorus]
Oh light, oh light of the world we worship you.
Oh light, oh light of the world we honor you.
As we journey through this cold dark world, we will carry you,
to light up the world with the light of the world.

Like a candle in the darkness the light dispels the fear of what is waiting in the dark unknown.
As you shine your light around us, by faith our hearts can see the road we walk will one day lead us home.

[chorus]

{bridge}
Shine your light in the places that no one else can see.
Holy light of the ages shine your light through me.

(tag)
As we journey through this cold dark world we will carry you,
to light up the world with the light of the world.

Missed last week's post -- our Fall Break!

No worries, as this week's is at least two weeks worth of goodness!!!

The moon and stars they wept
The morning sun was dead
The Savior of the world was fallen
His body on the cross
His blood poured out for us
The weight of every curse was broken

One final breath He gave
As heaven looked away
The Son of God was laid in darkness
A battle in the grave
The war on death was waged
The power of hell forever broken

The ground began to shake
The stone was rolled away
His perfect love could not be overcome
Now death where is your sting?
Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated

Forever He is glorified
Forever He is lifted high
Forever He is risen
He is alive, He is alive

We sing Hallelujah
We sing Hallelujah

We sing Hallelujah
The Lamb has overcome

Theme Song Thursday

"Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)"

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand

And I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior
[x6]

I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine

Tribute to Daily Minutia

Running is a staple in my life for which I am grateful.  The opportunity to do something athletic outside is not something I take for granted.  Sox, our first family dog, and Moose, our current family

Theme Song Thursday

Show Me Your Glory

I see the cloud, I step in
I want to see Your glory as Moses did
Flashes of light and rolls of thunder,

I'm not afraid
I'm not afraid

Show me Your glory, show me Your glory, my God
Show me Your glory, show me Your glory

I'm awed by Your beauty, lost in Your eyes
I long to walk in Your presence like Jesus did
Your glory surrounds me and I'm overwhelmed

I'm not afraid
I'm not afraid

Show me Your glory, show me your glory, my God
Show me Your glory, show me Your glory

I long to look on the face of the One that I love
Long to stay in your presence, it's where I belong

Getting It All Done

If I haven't ranted about this before, I have to say it:  The first two - three days of every work week are incredibly crazy for me this school year. Optimistically I keep telling myself that it's a result of our much busier weekends during the soccer season.  Time will tell if that is truly the case.

Suddenly all around us the fields are being harvested, and I can see as far as my eyes will allow me to see without any obstructions.  My runs seem more "roaming" though I run the same route day after day after day.  Perhaps these changes are part of the reason my mind has begun to excitedly and expectantly think about Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I LOVE this time of the year!

On the Trim Healthy Mama front, I have continued to work the plan, though sometimes because of circumstances beyond my control and sometimes because of my choices I go off plan.  My clothes and my husband tell me that the plan is working despite the glitches!  When I initially started down the THM path, I followed the advice of the authors and did not attempt to change everything all at the very same time.  Recently I have begun to implement more E (energizing) meals and FP (Fuel Pull) snacks and desserts.  A couple of my new favorite recipes are: Savory Skillet Quinoa (FP, p. 231), Muffin in a Bowl (FP, p. 259) and Baked Tilapia.  Another recent food love is Fat Free Reddi Whip.

What's new with you these days?
