Reflections
God the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me in the Heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing.
Thank-you, God!
Yet, I will rejoice in You, Lord. I will be joyful in God my Savior.
God, You are my Refuge and Strength, [mighty, impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.
Thank-you, God. For my many blessings, my very life, I thank You!
". . . other notorious sinners often came to hear Jesus teach." Luke 15:1 NLT
You can still hear Jesus teach today. Meet Him in a quiet place and listen to His voice. You'll find His meeting invitation in many places including in His written Word. What do you have to lose?
And you can gain your very soul. Peace can reign in your spirit, mind, will emotions and body.

And Down the Home Stretch
A tiny skosh of research revealed that I have not labelled a post with "home education" since 2016, which would the time-ish I started working part time for a local, small engineering company.
Aha!
Two years later, and I am teaching only one student for the first time in my twenty-two year teaching career. Two more years to go until I graduate from this school, barring unforseen circumstances.
It has been a kind of rough start of the new school year. The Principal, (remember Student, he is your pal), the School Board and I decided that our final student should be challenged in her math, which means using a new-to-us on-line curriculum. Student did not want a new curriculum. Student also does not enjoy any writing classes, though Student is required to take one every semester. Ahem. Teacher is not having fun either, as a result of Student not having fun. But who said school is supposed to be fun?
I do remember the days when some parts of school were fun -- the early days. . .though those fond memories have been santized of the stress created by all the littles who were too young to do school. . . But those seem like glory days now.
I digress.
I am confident that we all made the right choice and that Student will adjust to the math and the writing.
What I am noticing so far about having only one student is that the stress level and the amount of grading time are much less than I anticipated. For this I am incredibly thankful.
I mentioned that I had started working part-time in 2016. And such is still true. At present, I am also exploring the possibilities available for full-time jobs, with the goal of finding just the right fit for me. Sending out resumes and cover letters and completing applications is kind of exhausting, but it is a good use of my time right now.
I feel like I need to get some kind of further education or training in order to be more marketable, at least if I am going to find a job that truly fits my design. Another thing on my list of things I need to do.
If anyone has an suggestions or ideas with regard to home educating one student and/or finding just the right job, please, send them along.

Theme Song Thursday (long time no post)
You are not forgotten, dear blog. You have been on my mind often.

Courage
I have been neglecting my blog - even the Theme Song Thursday posts are left behind; and they were my "consolation."
While taking a walk in the brisk Indiana "spring" air this pre-dawn morning, I was pondering about things He is showing and teaching me. Certainly He is showing me how He answers my prayers, something of which it seems I need continual reminding.
Additionally He has been teaching me about being vulnerable, about showing up authentically, about the journey being the point. And courage has been a theme throughout. I am thankful that He is showing me the ways I have been vulnerable, shown up as me and been courageous in the process. Being of the ilk to be harder on myself than I am on others, I need to see myself through His eyes.
And then there are the people around me who are also being courageous. Being courageous has many possible outward appearances. Without hearing someone's heart, I cannot begin to judge whether or not that person is being courageous, and it really isn't my place to judge. But I can observe and notice when they are being courageous. The women I spent Tech Week with were all walking courageously.
I am uncertain if they realize it about themselves or about each other, but I saw it. As I had opportunity to connect with them and hear a piece of each one's heart, I began to see them a bit more clearly through the lens of God's mercy. The gold in each one shined through. As a leader, I struggle sometimes because I want to defend my team members, but often the information I have that would be used for the defense is not mine to speak.
Praying together and for the other person, asking how I can help and loving each one is the best I know to do in those situations. Because I see each one as courageous, I want each one to see the other one as courageous. The Cy activity of writing down the facts, then editing for just the facts seems like beneficial for processing. And then ask, "how can I help?"
