Finally...I finished Matt's neck gaitor. I did not start any other projects because I was determined to finish. So what will I do next? Hmmm...there's still the sock to finish and the crocheted flower blanket which may morph into a bag, along with a bunch of other knitting, sewing and crocheting projects I've pinned on to my bulletin board at Pinterest. It will be exciting to see what transpires. 05.15.12
I stopped knitting shortly after finishing the scarf and neck gaitor; my shoulders and neck were stiff and sore. I don't understand that AT ALL since I love to knit and crochet. I hope to get back to both soon. I started another gaitor for Matt and still have a sock in process, not to mention the crocheted flower blanket that has been put on hold for over a year. Unfortunately today I found some other ideas that are "calling my name." I'll keep you posted...

I finished Isaac's crocheted scarf:
I am literally just a few rounds away from finishing Jenny's neck gaitor:
With no more football games to knit/crochet during, I am going to finish this off during tonight's session of Financial Peace University. I don't want to wait until next Sunday's return trip from Bethel All Nations Church.

So I intended to quickly jump on here and update, but instead started editing and improving other stuff on my blog...oops. Now I don't have time to finish that project (write it down for later.)
I purchase yarn for my sister-in-laws neck gator AND yarn for Isaac's scarf. I am so excited to start on both of these projects. Both will be made from chunky yarn. I hope that works out for each one. I also hope that they will make up way faster than my last project. I am going to crochet Isaac's scarf with long stripes. I made one for Katie awhile back (and Liz). I will post pictures of the started projects once that happens.

Final update on my brother's neck gator
I did finish the gator; it was actually longer than I intended it to be, but I think he will be ok with that. I forgot to take a picture of it before I mailed it out -- oops! Next up is a neck gator for my sister-in-law in fleece yarn, plus I want to start Isaac's scarf. Thankfully the winter has been mild so far.

While folding laundry today, it dawned on me that the awesome pattern that I posted a link to a couple of days ago is not what my brother wanted either. The original pattern was more like what he showed me than the balaclava. I need more yarn so that I can make the neck gaitor longer, plus I am going to probably knit it on larger needles; I haven't done the math yet to make the adjustments for his head size. Fun, fun, fun...and I was just "getting into" the fun part of knitting the test balaclava, too. I am on a learning curve here! It will be exciting to see what the final product looks like; hope I remember to take a picture and post it before I mail it on :-)

Ok, so I finished the test neck gator last night and discovered two very important things:
- What I knitted, while it turned out exactly as the pattern said it would, (it is fabulous when that happens), is not at all what my brother wanted :-).
- My husband is a genius for suggesting a knit a test one rather than be disappointed.

I started on a test neck gator recently and am almost finished with it. I've been using the The Magical Magic Loop method.
This is not the one for my brother, by the way:-)
I finally started on the dish rags for my mother-in-law last week. It's a great way for me to transition back to knitting -- easy and almost immediate gratification. I also love that it doesn't take much concentration to be successful.
I will soon start on some neck gaitors and scarves for extended family members. I am excitedly anticipating the yarn shopping, the swatching, the knitting and the gift-giving of the final products!
What creative projects are you working on right now?
