The Spice of Life

Enjoyed a paternal family reunion for the first time in ten years-ish over the weekend.  I have definitely missed my family.  It is too bad that life gets in the way of relationships sometimes; I suppose it's a prioritizing of relationships and then giving your attention to the ones highest up on the list?  I feel like that's something I need work on in order to honor people better.

The day before the reunion, our outreach team, 1 Voice, conducted a prayer siege at the Indiana State Capitol building, which by the way is incredibly beautiful inside.  If you are unfamiliar with a prayer siege, check out the link http://bound4life.com/the-silent-siege/ .  It's not a protest.  It's a prayer meeting.  We experienced God's favor and know that He heard us and is at work.

Theme Song Thursday

The song that is playing repeatedly in my head this morning is:

God I Look to You

God I look to You
I won't be overwhelmed
Give me vision to see things like You do
God I look to You
You're where my help comes from
Give me wisdom, You know just what to do
And I will love You Lord my strength
And I will love you Lord my shield
And I will love You Lord my rock
Forever all my days I will love you God
Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
Hallelujah our God reigns
Forever all my days Hallelujah
Before I move on to my math review, I have to provide you with a chuckle; my right forearm has been incredibly sore this past week.  I have pondered and pondered trying to come up with what repetitive and new motion I have been making that would cause this.  Can you guess?  Yesterday I realized it's from all the writing I am doing in my Pre-Calculus lessons!

Before Pre-Calculus

Before I launched into today's Pre-Calculus Lesson (#17 if anyone is counting),  I had to have a snack -- a "Trim Healthy Mama" snack.  Thanks to a dear friend mentioning this book, I have been enjoying food without feeling the negative effects of blood sugar swings while eating lots of yummy foods including sweet treats.

Theme Song Thursday, almost too late

Find me in the river
Find me on my knees
I've walked against the water
Now I'm waiting if You please
We've longed to see the roses
But never felt the thorns
And brought our pretty crowns
But never paid the price
Find me in the river
Find me there
Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare
Even though You're gone and I'm cracked and dry
Find me in the river, I'm waiting here
Find me in the river
Find me on my knees
I've walked against the water
Now I'm waiting if You please
We didn't count on suffering
We didn't count on pain
But if the blessing's in the valley
Then in the river I will wait

I've been pursuing the presence this week.  Thus the song of the week.

Good Vibrations

Starting to "feel" like summer and like I am in a new groove -- one which is more flexible and less scheduled.  The vague sense of discombobulation is dissipating.

Driving hither and yon is another theme of this week, alongside overnight guests.  Many steps closer to readiness for summer camp, we are as a result of some of the taxiing.

To get back to sewing the "practice" Jane Austen style dress, I must.  Appointments, shopping, taxiing and Pre-Calc have robbed time from this neglected project.

Down to only one library book, I feel lonely.  This one demands more attention than most, so it is as it should be.

Check it out; the author has keen insight into much that is happening at present.

Something I have discovered which is helping me to be more mindful of God throughout the day, is Praying the Divine Hours.

What good things are happening in your sphere today?

Stop saying that word

Inconvenience:  not convenient especially in giving trouble or annoyance.   Not suited to personal comfort or to easy performance.

This word exposes a place in my heart.  I abhor inconveniences and struggle with doing the right thing with a good attitude when faced with them.  I'd like for this place in my heart to be healed.  Replace the heart attitude/mindset of inconvenience with delight, joy and pleasure.  This mentality of inconveniences stands in the way of moving forward.

And then there's this soreness of heart from a secret treasure offered when there seems to be no way to receive it.  Trusting that He is enough even for this.

Walking out of the valley of the shadow

BLAM!  BIFF!! BOFF!!!

That's what I'm "hearing" today, or at the least what I am imagining is happening in the unseen realm.  Why would a solid person like me be imagining such things?  Tee-hee, if that's what you thought, then you don't know me.  Imagining is a way of life for me, and the more I attend to my imagination the more I realize it is a part of who I am.

Some things are falling away and diminishing, while I feel strengthened and supported.   In my wrestle with fear, I am learning that what I need is boldness and courage to move forward when fear shows up.  Fearlessness is not the desired quality I once thought it was.  I like that Papa has been adjusting my perspective.

I'm alive!  I'm on fire!  And my spirit burns with desire.  You set me alight, bright eyed and with no way to hold it inside!

I am so very thankful.

Minding the Minutia

 This week is to be a week of overnight guests, shopping for summer camp needs and tying up of loose ends before the summer camping season kicks into high gear.  Son #2 and I arrived home minutes ago from procuring another work permit, picking up some much needed breakfast groceries and dropping off paperwork & empty egg cartons to camp. {I must say that I love Camp Tecumseh and very much miss my life there -- the one I had and the one I should have lived.  A friend and long-time camp director commented to me recently that hubbie and I needed to get back into camping where we belonged.  At the time, I heard him, but wasn't sure that I agreed.  Today, I feel like I would absolutely LOVE being back at Camp Tecumseh, (said with starry-eyed-adoration-colored glasses on my face).  Perhaps this is to be a season of truly mourning that loss, but perhaps it's the beginning of something new and the remaking of something old.}

Two other thoughts are rumbling around in me today:

 1)  Without hope you cannot have faith because faith is the substance of things hoped for, (Kris Vallotton and not a direct quote).

 2) You must have time to think, to dream, to pray and to write if you are going to discover you passion in life, (read it on a blog post).  This I have been saying to myself for some time now!

What's rumbling around inside of you today?  What are you finding time to dream about?
