Lost and Out of Synch

   Finally ran again today for the first time in over 4 weeks; actually I think I did run one day in there, but decided afterward to sit it out a bit longer.  May this experience be the convincing proof that running in broken down shoes is simply NOT an acceptable money saving technique!

   The run was a good beginning to this week in which I intend to find the path again and to synch

Beauty & Dancing

  I think it's about a hunger for beauty... because Heaven is invading earth and creating a desire for all things beautiful.  Without a Kingdom filter, sometimes that desire for beauty does not feel or look beautiful to us.  God is beauty, and all that He created is beautiful.

  And then there's dancing.  We were all made to dance, because God dances.  Somewhere, some time, someone lied to some of us about our personal dance.   And we stopped dancing.  Others dance still whether lied to or not.  God danced first and made us to dance.

  Take some time today to enjoy beauty, to create beauty, to be beautiful, and to dance.

Food for the Mind

  Long ago, in a land not-so-far-away our young children watched a tv show via our Christian Satellite TV provider called "Nana Puddin'."

  One of my favorite skits involved the singing of a song entitled "Food for the Mind."  "Books are so delicious; they are food for the mind."

  One such tasty morsel which I happen to be re-reading is Money and the Prosperous Soul. 

 
  This book will transform your entire being.

  "As God takes us from glory to glory, He is adding weight to our lives...the increasing mass of spiritual substance and its accelerated momentum in my life was bringing my character under greater "stress tests" -- and it eventually exposed the flaws in my trust.  The prosperous soul that Christ was establishing in me could not remain within the narrow confines created by my insecurity and low self-worth...Many Christians...mistakenly think the exposure of their character flaws is proof that their salvation isn't working.  The exact opposite is true!  The true work of grace and glory in your life is to bring everything into the light so you can see the broken places, invite God's healing and gain wisdom and strength to live differently."  ~ p. 84

1. If  you are struggling with curtailing time spent perusing Pinterest, switch your current service provider to a satellite company which severely restricts your download threshold (and yes, viewing stuff on Pinterest does suck those mbs)
2. Label your power cords with those squares plastic tabs that are found on the bags of loaves of bread and other bread products.  You will save yourself frustration when you want to uplug yourself (or others) from the power strip.

Changes

   Soon I will be venturing out with one of our kiddos to feed animals and horses at a nearby YMCA camp.  Yesterday was a misadventure fraught with time deadlines and unforeseen challenges. What will today bring?  I find that while I feel resistant to change, it is invigorating all the same.

   This is my favorite season of the year, which leads into my two favorite holidays of the year. Although the harbinger of winter, I welcome autumn's arrival.  The colors, the scents, the traditions, the memories, the food, the fellowship, the fun...YES!  I embrace all.
