For all you camp people out there, I am not speaking of the wondrous rubbery plastic lacing that can be woven into multitudinous wearables.
No, I am speaking of the injury to my left calf, either a strain or a tear or both, which causes me to limp. Happened on Easter Sunday. Prayers appreciated!

Techy Though Tardy
I just discovered a wonder which has existed awhile now, but had escaped my notice.
If you have Kindle and/or Kindle apps on your computer and mobile devices, you really should have the appropriate "Send to Kindle. . ." For instance I just downloaded Send to Kindle for PC. Brilliant addition to my growing Kindle apps and books and all-things-Kindle. It also means that I love my Kindle even more!
What spurred this discovery was another wonderful discovery via Mary Hunt:
Girlebooks.com for classic and contemporary ebooks by female writers, many of them FREE! I delightfully downloaded one of my favorites FREE, "The Enchanted April," and then was pondering how to move it from my PC to my other Kindle devices. While I emailed it to my Android Kindle device, I discovered the wonder of "Send to Kindle" after the fact.
What wonders have you discovered lately?

The Promised Pictures; Sewing for CHDT, part 2
Here are the 3 pattern pieces that will become the bonnet.
Two pieces of the brim are sewn together, seam trimmed and turned right sides out.
This picture and the next two are of the long rectangular crown piece pinned and sewn onto the half oval back piece; this was a mind-bender when the instructions were first read and pondered.
The bonnet is sewn! Ribbon ties which coordinate with each schoolgirl's dress will be attached at the next rehearsal. Seven bonnets completed, with an assist by my #4 daughter on the sewing of one. By the way, the bonnets are black, although it looks blue in some of the photos.

Sewing for CHDT
It's that time of year again; I am making hats for the 2nd Stage CHDT. The play we will be performing is "The Little Princess." Stay tuned for pictures of the process. . .
I also helped with costumes for the Main Stage production, but sadly, have no pictures of that

Theme Song Thursday
I stand before You now
The greatness of your renown
I have heard the majesty and wonder of you
King of Heaven, in humility, I bow
As Your love, in wave after wave
Crashes over me, crashes over me
For You are for us
You are not against us
Champion of Heaven
You made a way for all to enter in
Verse 2:
I have heard You calling my name
I have heard the song of love that You sing
So I will let You draw me out beyond the shore
Into Your grace
Into Your grace
You make me brave
You make me brave
You call me out beyond the shore into the waves
You make me brave
You make me brave
No fear can hinder now the love that made a way
You make me brave
You make me brave
You call me out beyond the shore into the waves
You make me brave
You make me brave
No fear can hinder now the promises You make

5 Minutes On Why I Love Reading Books
One of my earliest memories is begging my Dad to teach me to read. . .or at least the moments leading up to being able to read; elation and a profound sense of accomplishment overwhelmed me. Awed by the impact books and written materials made on my young heart and mind, I gorged on these at every opportunity. To this day I still feel that sense of elation when quiet moments afford me the opportunity to read. These days I also feel that I was MADE to read books, like it's something I must do in order to live. Currently my life circumstances miserly mete out mini moments for this need of mine. Occasionally, unable to bear it any more, I will set aside all but the MOST urgent minutia and read for hours on end; usually I feel guilty afterward, though I am filled up by the "stolen" book-reading time. Generally when I read, time sprints past me unnoticed. I laugh, I cry, I am frustrated. . .I emote with the ebb and flow of the story/information. Reading books make me feel alive. I don't understand the mechanics of it, but watching tv, movies, plays, or other media does not affect me the same way. I think I READ somewhere that this is because reading is an active pursuit, while watching is passive. I think I agree with that, except when it comes to me watching a sporting event, like March Madness or the Super Bowl :-). Learning to read is one of the greatest gifts I was ever given.
