Theme Song Thursday

My Dear

Whoa oh oh oh, whoa oh oh oh
Whoa oh oh oh oh, oo-whoa oh oh oh oh.
(*repeat*)

I am Yours and You are mine

I am ravished by the sight
Of one glimpse into Your eyes
My lovers coming for His bride

Oo-whoa oh oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
(*repeat*)

For there is none upon the earth

That I desire before you, Lord
For you’ve been faithful all my days
Your love endures, it will never fade away

I need to say what my soul is singing.
I need to say what my heart is screaming.
(*repeat*)

That I love You my Dear

I love You my Dear, my Dear

  I love You my Dear

I love You my Dear, my Dear

's up?

"Pancakes are awaiting at the end," I huffed and puffed aloud to myself at the 1/4 point in my morning run.  The oppressive humidity and warmer-than-I-enjoy-for-running temperature was threatening and berating me.  I spoke those words as a response to the thought that I could just be finished at the 1/2 point, which is our house. Thankfully, in what seemed like seconds but what was in reality much longer, I noticed by my watch that I had less than two minutes left in the run.

The promised "Trim Healthy Mama" pancakes were filling and lovely once again, and now after having enjoyed breakfast and a refreshing shower, I am exponentially grateful that I did not wimp out of the remainder of the run.  Words are so powerful and change spiritual atmospheres!

And speaking of THM, the salmon dip I mentioned in my cheesecake for breakfast post is most delicious.  Three of our daughters also partook in the dip and raved about it's delectable goodness.  I hope I am creating and/or increasing your curiosity about this book and new way of eating because I mean to do so.  While there are some things that to this point I do not feel comfortable sharing explicitly about, including finances and my personal weight details, I can say that I have lost some pounds and some inches already.  I will also say that my belly fat is slowly shrinking, which makes me extremely happy!

Having said that I will also tell you that I have enjoyed several off plan treats during the month-ish since I began THM eating.  These have included homemade lemon meringue pie, a Jack's doughnut and a Kinser's Bakery doughnut or two.  Some foods are simply too incredibly tasty to pass up, especially when they are on occasion and not as a habit.  (That last sentence is not endorsed by THM, by the way.) The Kinser's Bakery doughnuts could easily become habit forming, which I readily admit and am on guard against.

Alongside of eating, school planning is back in my focus.  Donna Young created a new version of her lesson planner, and after trying out the new BETA version I have decided to use the new planner.  Cudos and thanks to Donna for the changes she has made which make the planner more flexible and user friendly!  You can read about and view the changes she has made here.  NOTE:  I use her Lesson Planner V3, because I keep track of the grades, GPA and other records separately.  The bells and whistles on the Lesson Planner are not as slick as the V Planner V3, but so far suit my/our needs best at present.  This is a product I value highly!

Having said that, it's time to start inputting the data into my new Lesson Planner V3.

What's on your "to do" list today?

Of Cucumbers, Frappas & Zucchinis

Natural discovery of the day:  another cucumber and zucchini  were ready for picking!  These were the second of each kind picked in the last couple of days.  A week of rain followed by a week of warm sunny weather will do that, I see.

Foodie discovery of the day:  Fat Stripping Frappa, "Trim Healthy Mama" style.  The recipe in the book makes a gianormous amount, so I think the next time I will make a half batch when having a snack.  Now I can make it until suppertime plus be able to focus on my school planning...

...which I should be doing right about now -- gotta run!

Cheesecake for breakfast

Sounds counter-intuitive, but today's slimming breakfast was:  cheesecake with fresh black raspberries and a cup of Starbucks Sumatra Coffee.  Find the delicious, easy-peasey, low-carb, nourishing cheesecake recipe here. I used 1/3 reduced fat cream cheese and full fat sour cream, and because I did not think ahead, cooled the cooked concoction in a larger bowl of ice water for about 10 minutes.  It was worth the wait!  The black raspberries grow wild near our house, by the way.

You deserve cheesecake for breakfast, too!  Try it out and let me know what you think.

A friend mentioned a salmon dip that she made for lunch yesterday, which is what I plan to eat for my lunch today.  That recipe can be found in the book "Trim Healthy Mama."

Theme Song Thursday

Soaking in this song these last couple of days, especially the following lyrics:

"Jesus Let Me See Your Eyes"
Jesus let me see Your eyes
Let me feel Your embrace
Let me feel You all around me
Yeah

I was made for, I was made for
I was made for, I was made for
I was made for, I was made for love

It really doesn't get better than that!

PS I have completed Pre-Calculus lesson 26!

Run, Walk, Repeat

I know I said this before, but the added run-walk-repeat day of exercise energizes me and makes me incredibly happy.  You really should give it a try.

Other things that have made me happy lately are the delicious, pampering, healthy, slimming "Trim Healthy Mama" meals, snacks and desserts I have been enjoying these past few weeks.  Salmon patties, buttery baked butternut squash, meatloaf, pancakes (twice this week), grilled cheese sandwiches, chocolate cake, rich chocolate fudge, smoothies...I am making myself hungry and really should go have a snack to keep my metabolism revving and burning up that belly fat.

But before I dash off, I will mention one other happiness-giver to me:

https://store.ibethel.org/p7411/keep-your-love-on
After reading the first chapter I sense that much transformation is ahead -- that's what I am talkin' about!  I am going to learn to be a more powerful person:

"Powerful people do not try to control other people.  They know it doesn't work and that it's not their job.  Their job is to control themselves." p. 25

What do you think about the above statements?

Making a list and checking it twice

Is it awkward or lame of me to reference someone else's blog as my post today?  I hope not, because this one hit me right between the eyes.  It's almost like Someone is shouting instructions to me instead of whispering them.  Wahoo!

I know what you are thinking...Shouldn't you be doing the millions of things on your list right now, starting with the daily Pre-Calc review lesson.  Perhaps you are right, but...

Here's the link to the blog article, which is exactly what I needed to read today:

Why I think you should set a goal by Bob Lotich

Oh and just one other thought before I move along to that to-do list about which you were harping:  if it is true in fact that I can have it all, it is likewise true that I cannot have it all at the very same time.  Making a list and checking it twice or more should help with that, right?

What are you focusing upon today?
