Shower revelation

In one of my “happy, revelatory spaces” (read that as the shower), I had the thought that as I have listened to others’ stories all of my life, generally, I have believed that I am less than because my story doesn’t match; I have felt the stress of “I cannot live up to that, so I am flawed and a failure.” Wow! That’s quite a lie unearthed. It’s an answer to a prayer I have been praying related to loving others well: “teach me to love me as You love me, so that I may love others as You love.”

What if we choose love?

What if we each individually took responsibility for our own choices?

 What if we each purposed to control myself, without regard for the circumstances or how others treat me?

 What if we lived with the understanding that every choice I make every day has good and or bad consequences which ripple from now into eternity?

 What if everday each one of us chooses to listen, to seek to understand, to love everyone and to respect & honor everyone?

 Overcome evil with good! Let's change our spheres for the good everyday. You have influence. Weild it with care.

Lab report on Vulnerability and thankfulness

Earlier this week I came face to face with an UGLY lie. It has been around for awhile, and I thought it had been dealt with, however, another layer was revealed.

On the other side of it, I can say that processing through that lie has freed me to deal with some other lies, to be strengthened to not believe some lies and has brought great joy.

 I don't want to expose anyone, but the relationships that are most definitely improving already are valuable to me. I encourage you to examine you heart, which is often indicated by your emotions. Then once the lie is revealed, ask God for the truth. It truly will set you free.

Here's what I wrote while out running earlier this morning:

 Letting go of lies and pain, while embracing and intentionally remembering truth is breaking through to a new land of creativity and joy.

 Today I am so very thankful for my Best Friend, Counselor, Comforter and Lover of my soul, who gently and relentlessly pursues me offering me healing, mercy, grace, forgiveness, love and every good and perfect gift because of He is Love.

I am thankful for my friends and family who know me and remind me of who I am, especially when I have forgotten.

When I first started this lil' ol' blog, it was about me writing and being faithful to pursue creativity, while recording life as it appeared through my eyes.

Today, I've been revisiting my posts, and thoroughly enjoying the trip looking backwards.

At some point in the journey, I finally decided to add another blog at a different host site, which you can explore here:

The point of that site was/is to practice my voice in a different context.
 
Up until today, I have resisted "linking" the two sites because of the incredible division and labeling and dishonoring that has been going on in our world for years now. Sadly, this is still true and seems to be deepening and widening the division in our country.

Despite this concern, I am now connecting the two together via this post (and probably one like it there). My hope and prayer is that my readers from each space will not label, judge, condemn or dishonor me. However, that is your choice, and I respect your freedom to make that choice.

Bear in mind something I have been learning and believe to be true:

You cannot make yourself my enemy; only I can choose you as my enemy. And I simply refuse to have enemies.
