Reflections
God the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ has blessed me in the Heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing.
Thank-you, God!
Yet, I will rejoice in You, Lord. I will be joyful in God my Savior.
God, You are my Refuge and Strength, [mighty, impenetrable to temptation], a very present and well-proved help in trouble.
Thank-you, God. For my many blessings, my very life, I thank You!
". . . other notorious sinners often came to hear Jesus teach." Luke 15:1 NLT
You can still hear Jesus teach today. Meet Him in a quiet place and listen to His voice. You'll find His meeting invitation in many places including in His written Word. What do you have to lose?
And you can gain your very soul. Peace can reign in your spirit, mind, will emotions and body.
"Rejoice with Me, because I have found my lost sheep." Luke 15:6

Checking in on My Poor Neglected Blog
Dear Escapades,
I have missed you and longed to spend time with you. Dashing off "Theme Song Thursday" posts as a way to stay connected, though somewhat lame, has ministered to my heart and given me hope that indeed I will once again be regularly posting here. Thanks for your grace, patience and understanding.

Theme Song Thursday - 2014 Thanksgiving
1. For the beauty of the earth,
for the glory of the skies,
for the love which from our birth
over and around us lies;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
2. For the beauty of each hour
of the day and of the night,
hill and vale, and tree and flower,
sun and moon, and stars of light;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
3. For the joy of ear and eye,
for the heart and mind's delight,
for the mystic harmony,
linking sense to sound and sight;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
4. For the joy of human love,
brother, sister, parent, child,
friends on earth and friends above,
for all gentle thoughts and mild;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
5. For thy church, that evermore
lifteth holy hands above,
offering up on every shore
her pure sacrifice of love;
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.
6. For thyself, best Gift Divine,
to the world so freely given,
for that great, great love of thine,
peace on earth, and joy in heaven:
Lord of all, to thee we raise
this our hymn of grateful praise.

Happy Thanksgiving 2013
"Dance"
I’m after Your heart
Why should I be still when the worship starts Lord
I’m so in love with You
What can men do can’t hold me back anymore
You spin over me, and You are please
When I spend myself on You
I’m gonna let go now, really worship
Letting my dance come forth
Dance, dance
Let the Spirit move you
Dance, dance
Holy Spirit in you
Turned my mourning into dancing
My heart is full of joy
I will praise You
You healed my body and You made me new
My heart is full of joy
I will dance for you
You gave me love that broke down fear
My heart is full of joy, I will sing to you
My heart is full of joy, I will praise
I will dance, I will sing for You
For You

Recurrence, welcome and unwelcome
This is my favorite season of the year, which leads into my two favorite holidays of the year. Although the harbinger of winter, I welcome autumn's arrival. The colors, the scents, the traditions, the memories, the food, the fellowship, the fun...YES! I embrace all.

Getting It All Done
If I haven't ranted about this before, I have to say it: The first two - three days of every work week are incredibly crazy for me this school year. Optimistically I keep telling myself that it's a result of our much busier weekends during the soccer season. Time will tell if that is truly the case.
Suddenly all around us the fields are being harvested, and I can see as far as my eyes will allow me to see without any obstructions. My runs seem more "roaming" though I run the same route day after day after day. Perhaps these changes are part of the reason my mind has begun to excitedly and expectantly think about Thanksgiving and Christmas. I LOVE this time of the year!
On the Trim Healthy Mama front, I have continued to work the plan, though sometimes because of circumstances beyond my control and sometimes because of my choices I go off plan. My clothes and my husband tell me that the plan is working despite the glitches! When I initially started down the THM path, I followed the advice of the authors and did not attempt to change everything all at the very same time. Recently I have begun to implement more E (energizing) meals and FP (Fuel Pull) snacks and desserts. A couple of my new favorite recipes are: Savory Skillet Quinoa (FP, p. 231), Muffin in a Bowl (FP, p. 259) and Baked Tilapia. Another recent food love is Fat Free Reddi Whip.
What's new with you these days?

On earth as it is in Heaven?
What can I do in 10 minutes? Inspired by two of my daughters who recently participated in a NaNoWriMo Write-In, I decided to write.
"I am on vacation" is heard around our house on days like today; being translated, it means that all of my school work is finished, and I am officially in non-school mode. At present I believe that I am on vacation, though I have one student still working. After lunch I will bake pies, knead up a batch of 100% whole wheat dinner roll dough, and make cranberry sauce in preparation for tomorrow. In the betweens, I am pressing into rest and mentally transitioning to non-school mode.
What appeared to be an "empty" month, according to our over-sized dry erasable wall calendar, is almost at its close. Because I love this time of year so very much, the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays, I have peace in regard to where we are in the 2012 year. We have much on our "to do" lists for the Thanksgiving vacation, including decorating the tree and inside of the house for Christmas, drawing names for gift exchange, scoring an acceptable family picture for our Christmas cards and spending time together as a family being thankful for each other and for our enumerable blessings.
Resting and loving authentically are two themes which Holy Spirit is highlighting in this season. Both are challenging for me due in large part, in my opinion, to the day-to-day demands of this life I've been blessed to live. And it is exactly in the day-to-day where I long to wear rest and love as naturally and as effortlessly as my skin. I wonder if that day will ever arrive here on the earth?
Yes, there will be joy in this journey!
Trying to remember to seek first the unseen Kingdom...

Project: Enjoy the Process
One of the projects I hope to finish this summer is a Helen Keller’s

Thanksgiving = Breakthrough
What's God's will for your life? Be joyful always, pray continually and give thanks
in all circumstances. This will unstick you and bring about breakthrough in your life.
"God is kinder and gooder than you think" (Bill Johnson). Because God is always good and is
the giver of good gifts, we thank Him for what we do not yet see, but which we know is coming
our way and for who He is. Of course we also thank Him for the good things we do see, also.
For what are you thankful this year?
