God Showing Off
Because He is always with me and always at work, for me it isn't really an issue of God showing up or not. He always shows up for me (He is in me and promises to never leave nor forsake me). The challenge is to have eyes to see Him at work and ears to hear what He is saying as He is working. And so I cry "show off, God, for Your Name and Renown that everyone will see Your glory and will know Your lovingkindness." Graham Cooke suggests asking a question that is something like: "who are you for me right now, God?" I understand that to mean "what part of who You are is it that You are putting on display and revealing to me right now in this situation?"

Revive
June and July have been fabulously full of fun, learning opportunities.
After our adventure with Revive Northwest Indiana, my intention was to summarize that "summer school course."
You regular readers know that I have not chronicled our time in Lake County. As I dreaded might happen, the passing time since then has gathered many of my memories and stolen them away.
I absolutely LOVED going out into the community to pray with people. I absolutely LOVED listening to Holy Spirit's leading as to where to go and who to talk with. I absolutely LOVED being part of a team of people whom I had never met before and who, by the end of our morning or afternoon outing were like family to me. I absolutely LOVED the worship, the fellowship over meals, the prayer, the testimonies and the genuineness of Time to Revive's team.
So what lasting impact did it make upon me? I feel like I am much more bold to talk to people than ever before. I love the fact that I can now easily present the Gospel to someone using the tools (wristband and Bible), if that's where the person is on their journey to God. I was blessed and encouraged to see and to hear Holy Spirit respected, consulted, listened to and taught upon. Practicing hearing God's voice and then walking in faith according to what was heard is always a bonus as well.
Love. Listen. Discern. Respond. Four great steps for all of our interpersonal relationships!

Theme Song Thusday
Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT
Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
It's like this: the circumstances of life are just a video game, an interactive movie in which we have choices as to how we respond. The truth of my life is that He is. Everything. Always was. Always is. Always will be. Always with me. Will never fail me. Will never abandon me. Is my helper. Perfect love. More than enough. Good. Truth. Giver of perfect gifts. Above every other name in Heaven or on earth. King of Kings. Lord of Lords. Redeemer. Friend. Savior. God with me. Healer. Comforter. Counselor. Teacher. Restorer. Transformer.
Lord,You rearrange me. You make all things new again. I need my mind, will and emotions to be renewed and transformed.
"You can have it all, Lord. Every part of my world. Take this life and breathe on, this heart that is now yours."

Theme Song Thursday
For the Sake of the World
I'm laying down my life
I'm giving up control
I'm never looking back
I surrender all
I'm living for Your glory on the earth
This passion in my heart
This stirring in my soul
To see the nations bow
For all the world to know
I'm living for Your glory on the earth
Chorus:
For the sake of the world burn like a fire in me
Light a flame in my soul for every eye to see
For the sake of the world burn like a fire in me
Bridge:
For every knee to bow down
For every heart to believe
For every voice to cry out
Burn like a fire in me
For every tongue to confess
You alone are the King
You are the hope of the earth
Burn like a fire in me

Change is Good and Hard
BLEH -- Ok, now that that's out of the way, I can agree with my title.
Love it that the weather has warmed and the snow pack is melting. Love it that I can change the background of my blog and feel the freshness of spring. Love it that God is always at work, doing new things, making all things new and providing us with new opportunities.
And yet, the "warmer" temperatures and melting snow pack bring severe weather and flooding. Changing my blog's background looks great (in my opinion) with the recent posts that show on the home page, but is not as attractive on some of the older posts. New things, renewed things and new opportunities free me from my ruts, but jolt me out of my comfort zone and cause me to have to make new decisions and take new action.
It's been a long, frustrating morning here in our home school; math, the usual suspect, has bruised us again. Tears and frustrated words have flowed, and we have decisions to make that are difficult and grievous. Yet once again I sing:

For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth
Thou art exalted far above all gods
For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth
Thou art exalted far above all gods
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
Oh with all we have
And with all we are
We have come so far
To lift Your name
Lift Your name on high, Jesus
Cause it's all about You, oh Jesus
Oh it's all about You - oh yeah yeah yeah
And this love, this song, this praise
Is what we bring to You
Thou art exalted far above all gods
For Thou, O Lord, art high above all the earth
Thou art exalted far above all gods
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
I exalt Thee, I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
We exalt Thee, We exalt Thee
We exalt Thee, O Lord
Oh with all we have

God I Look to You
Before I move on to my math review, I have to provide you with a chuckle; my right forearm has been incredibly sore this past week. I have pondered and pondered trying to come up with what repetitive and new motion I have been making that would cause this. Can you guess? Yesterday I realized it's from all the writing I am doing in my Pre-Calculus lessons!God I look to YouI won't be overwhelmedGive me vision to see things like You doGod I look to YouYou're where my help comes fromGive me wisdom, You know just what to doAnd I will love You Lord my strengthAnd I will love you Lord my shieldAnd I will love You Lord my rockForever all my days I will love you GodHallelujah our God reignsHallelujah our God reignsHallelujah our God reignsForever all my days Hallelujah

***today***
I tried to post yesterday, but I was unable to access my dashboard functions...
I love this quote from Bethel Redding's most recent "Sermon of the Week" :
That's my Daddy; Who's your Daddy?
"God is so careful with revelation…He’s so careful with lifting a veil prematurely for people to see truth they are not ready to obey. And the Lord in His mercy taught in parables to hide truth from those who weren’t ready to embrace it, but to reveal truth for those who were ready to go forward... [parables are] like the same story both hidden and revealed, illustrated…so the Lord in this passage says He lifts the veil when someone turns to Christ. Why is that? It’s in His mercy. He does not want to increase the responsibility of those who are not yet ready to obey…The Holy Spirit Himself speaks to the heart without giving a full plan, without giving full information and when the response comes to that voice…that call of God…and they turn to God, the veil is lifted. And that’s when seeing begins." Bill Johnson
A post showed up in my RSS feed about dreaming. Lovin' the groovy dimension.
Enjoying the process today and living in today's grace.
Peace is available. Taking time to receive it.
Minding the Minutia
Supernaturally-magically my chosen search words retrieved THE article for which I had fruitlessly searched weeks ago. Lesson planner 2013 will export important dates to my Outlook calendar!
Most of the items on my miscellaneous research list have been explored.
School is plodding on, faithfully. College kids will be on spring break in a couple of weeks. Drama Tech Week will soon be upon us. Then the Second Stage Play, and then graduation. Not too many days later, our last day of the school year will arrive. Wow!
What's on your calendar in the weeks and months ahead?

Wrecked
While out doing the weekly shopping trip, I was wrecked by the "Sermon of the Week," (S.O.W.) from 04.29.12, which you can download at: http://www.ibethel.org/podcast/2012/05/02/one-of-those-days . Danny Silk is an anointed communicator.
I highly advise all of you to listen and be wrecked yourself, but I will share some of my notes with you.

Sozo
: saved, healed, delivered.
Lately
my morning pages have served as a connection between me and my spiritual counselor . Repeatedly in the past month and a
half, we have worked through lies and wounds from the past. I am grateful to be gaining ground and
freedom. Sometimes I think I understand
the connection from the past through my present and into my destiny. Usually though I simply press on in faith
with hope and with trust in my spiritual counselor. This is another piece of the marvelous
multi-faceted relationship I am blessed to have with God.
No,
I am not about to revisit my morning pages and retell any of those intimate conversations
with my spiritual counselor. If it’s
junk that you need to know, I will be sure to be in touch. I do wrestle with lies and
wounds from the past and present like everyone else I know. One of the MOST transforming and freeing things I have learned/am learning is to take those lies and wounds to God.
I’ve been through an official Sozo* session and have experienced much
breakthrough and consequent transformation. As God nudges me, I have sessions with Him that bring about similar results. It is for freedom that Christ
has set me free, and you, too!
Step into freedom today; carry everything to God in prayer!
"What a
Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer."
(*Another
name used for this type of spiritual discipline is “healing prayer.”)

Do You Hear What I Hear?
I love this season of wonder -- what an amazing gift that God came to earth in the form of a precious baby to be our example and to make a way for us to be a part of His family. What gift will I bring to lay at His feet as I pause to adore Him? What comforts and joys are heading my way in the days to come? How and where will I tell my Noel stories?
What about you? About what do the carols and songs of Christmas cause you to pause and reflect?
