Theme Song Thursday

Forever Reign

You are good, You are good
When there's nothing good in me
You are love, You are love
On display for all to see
You are light, You are light
When the darkness closes in
You are hope, You are hope
You have covered all my sin

You are peace, You are peace
When my fear is crippling
You are true, You are true
Even in my wandering
You are joy, You are joy
You're the reason that I sing
You are life, You are life,
In You death has lost its sting

Oh, I'm running to Your arms,
I'm running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

You are more, You are more
Than my words will ever say
You are Lord, You are Lord
All creation will proclaim
You are here, You are here
In Your presence I'm made whole
You are God, You are God
Of all else I'm letting go

Oh, I'm running to Your arms
I'm running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

My heart will sing
no other Name
Jesus, Jesus

Oh, I'm running to Your arms
I'm running to Your arms
The riches of Your love
Will always be enough
Nothing compares to
Your embrace
Light of the world forever reign

Contrariwise

It could be jealousy (in Christian love, of course).  It could be because I am hurting due to lack of friends.  It could be hormonally induced...

Well...I take issue with some things she wrote.  I agree that life is hard, but that is not a hope-filled statement.  What about "the joyful anticipation of good in every area of my life"?  Remember "do hard things"?   Am I more concerned about me looking stupid than I am about misrepresenting Jesus?  Do I ever have "control" of my children?  Is it a learning opportunity to think through and recognize that I chose wrongly to begin with, knowing all that was likely to occur?

Now, do I feel better and smarter than she?  Does this help me to feel like I could be valuable to someone as a friend, even though my blog is not even close to hers in content and eye-appeal?  Naw...actually I feel kinda cheap and small...and still lonely and not so valuable.

Yeah, this is what happens when I try to provide for myself or to protect myself.  Time to lift my eyes up to God, where my help comes from.

Out of Touch

Sure I should be starting in on that project.  But first I had to check email, Facebook and one other site...Never mind that I have more important and pressing jobs on my to do list.  What is up with that?

So there's this book that I heard about and bought last year, "Dream Culture."  It's a jam-packed, hands on book loaded with practical steps and how-to's.  I started reading it and pressing in, but stalled out, feeling over-whelmed by what I believe is permanent "stuckness" right where I am currently.  As the pain of this mired mess increased, I finally put the book away in my bookcase.

My Counselor has clearly communicated that it is time to start again with dreaming.  This is a scary idea to me because I have not succeeded as of yet in this area.  I am ready to risk failing again, as this seems to have life on it.  I'll keep you posted...

Are you a dreamer?  What are some of your dreams?

Theme Song Thursday

Here is love, vast as the ocean,
Lovingkindness as the flood,
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom,
Shed for us His precious blood.
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten,
Throughout Heav’n’s eternal days.

On the mount of crucifixion,
Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love, like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above,
And Heav’n’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.

Let me all Thy love accepting,
Love Thee, ever all my days;
Let me seek Thy kingdom only
And my life be to Thy praise;
Thou alone shalt be my glory,
Nothing in the world I see.
Thou hast cleansed and sanctified me,
Thou Thyself hast set me free.

In Thy truth Thou dost direct me
By Thy Spirit through Thy Word;
And Thy grace my need is meeting,
As I trust in Thee, my Lord.
Of Thy fullness Thou art pouring
Thy great love and power on me,
Without measure, full and boundless,
Drawing out my heart to Thee.

Happened upon an old acquaintance from our former church last evening, which I think is the event that inspired today's theme song.  I love old hymns!

Blueberry Scones Alternative

The day after picking 30.5 pounds of blueberries, I hunted down our favorite blueberry scones recipe and set to baking a batch.  Unfortunately for this THMer, said scones are not plan approved.  I had a hunch, however, that if I would make a delicious plan approved blueberry muffin and top it with some plan approved mock devonshire cream, then I would not feel left out of the blueberry goodness my family was going to enjoy.  Below is the recipe for the delectable muffin and the cream I made and ate that morning; as I suspected, I did not feel like I was missing out!

Fresh Blueberry Muffin (S THM)
Mix  well the following in a lightly greased, oven-safe mug or bowl:
1 large egg
2 T. ground flax seed
2 T. coconut flour (I ground my own in the blender)
1 teaspoon 1 T. coconut oil (edited 07.28.13)
4 t. Truvia
1/2 t. baking powder
Then add and mix again: 1/4 c. blueberries
Bake at 350 degrees until no longer doughy in the middle -- about 15 minutes or more, (I was multi-tasking and just kept checking and adding more time).  For mock devonshire cream, mix together 2 t. reduced-fat cream cheese, 1 t. sour cream and Truvia to taste.  When muffin is finished baking, dump onto a plate and let cool until you can't wait anymore.  Frost the top (which was the bottom and is where all of those fabulous blueberries are now) with the cream and enjoy!
Note: I adjusted my recipe from 1 T. coconut oil to 1 tsp.; being a THM newbie, I had forgotten that the natural oil in the coconut flour would make up for the reduced amount of coconut oil.

Three of My Favorite Things

  1) Running between 6:15 am and 7:00 am at this time of year.

  2) The Magical Mistical Morning Mist that lies over the fields and reminds me of my beloved Camp Tecumseh.

  3) The pungent smell of corn thickly blanketing the air.

Simple pleasures, grateful heart, experiencing the goodness of my Heavenly Daddy here in rural Indiana!

Theme Song Thursday

My Dear

Whoa oh oh oh, whoa oh oh oh
Whoa oh oh oh oh, oo-whoa oh oh oh oh.
(*repeat*)

I am Yours and You are mine

I am ravished by the sight
Of one glimpse into Your eyes
My lovers coming for His bride

Oo-whoa oh oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
(*repeat*)

For there is none upon the earth

That I desire before you, Lord
For you’ve been faithful all my days
Your love endures, it will never fade away

I need to say what my soul is singing.
I need to say what my heart is screaming.
(*repeat*)

That I love You my Dear

I love You my Dear, my Dear

  I love You my Dear

I love You my Dear, my Dear
